Faced with a growing crowd of avid spectators and knowing that this scandal with surely become the tittle-tattle of London, Darcy has very little choice but to announce an engagement between the two of them – even though he knows that Elizabeth will surely hate him for it.
But matters only worsen when he returns to Hertfordshire to face Elizabeth’s father, for Mr Bennet is adamantly opposed to their match – and as it turns out, desperate to find a way to end their hastily- formed engagement.
However, Darcy persists in his efforts and finally wins Elizabeth’s love – but is it all too late, and will their families ultimately succeed in tearing them apart?
This story is a long read, at approximately 208,000 words long, and it contains scenes of a sexual nature.
Reviews
Good story
I’ve read many P&P variations. I would say this is one of the better one’s.

Teased me with the promise of spice
THIS BOOK IS EXCELLENT and it will go on my TBRagain list. BUT the author has several scenes that led me to believe there would be a spicy scene and when the time came it was all closed door. Boo Hiss I say. Boo Hiss. Aside from that the story was clever and interesting. And for those looking for spice, there is enough foreplay to keep it interesting.

Quite Enjoyable!
This was quite an enjoyable read, although it was a little difficult to become involved in the storyline. For the first while, the story was too cerebral and intense, dragging out the build up, before finally settling into the trials and tribulations that became the love between Darcy and Elizabeth!

Mr Bennet Rules his Roost
Quite the romantic tale. Darcy is all that any woman could wish for and Elizabeth is uncharacteristically timid. But Mr Bennet takes a stand and will not be moved until he comes to understand both their characters better. I loved Mrs. Bennet’s and Jane’s support of Elizabeth. As with many full length P&P retellings there is a lot of detail provided from the original for those who don’t know the background. I quickly scrolled past that in addition to pages and pages describing the feelings the principle parties as if one or two sentences were not enough. Others may enjoy that but I find it irritating. For example, if I read that Elizabeth absolutely hated Darcy, I get it. I didn’t need her ruminations on the intensity of her feelings. All in all I still give it five stars because I was so enthralled from beginning to end.
